Our room in Bonzai Resort

Yum yum was no longer feeling well, probably coz I got her exhausted from walking, so we head back to the resort. We took a tryke ride from station 1 to station 3. The tryke ride in the main road should only be 10 pesos per person. However there are trykes who will offer you 50 pesos for 2 pax if you guys are gonna be the only passengers. I recommend that you just pay for the ordinary ride.

Finally the manager of Bonzai allowed us to check in at 11am.

We were so happy to enter our room and see our bed waiting for us.

The walls of the room are covered with native banig which I appreciate.

The room has a TV and aircon.

The room and the bathroom are also very clean.

They also have free wifi. Yum yum enjoyed surfing the MID tablet in our room.

Shot from another angle of the room.

We love our stay in Bonzai Resort.

For only 1800 pesos you can get reservations for 3 nights already.
This is when you book via Hostelworld.

We will definitely go back and book a room with them when we return. The staff were very nice and helpful.

Lunch in Jonah's

I was craving for Jonah's pancit canton so I once again drag yum yum to look for Jonah's fruit shake.

They relocated near the main road. But we saw another Jonah's in the beach front which could just be a branch.

Jonah's fruit shake is one of the must visit place in Boracay according to the blogs I've read.

I was just disappointed because they don't have papaya melon shake available. I think I orderred papaya pineapple shake which I did not finish. Oh well, Yum yum was happy with her mocha shake.

Their fruit shake is around 75 to 100 pesos.

A plate of pancit canton is good for 2 to 3 persons because they have big servings. This will cost you around 275 more or less. Sorry wasn't able to take pics.

I have to say, I did not like their Chori Burger. There was nothing special in it. I took this picture thinking I will be satisfied after having a bite.

My curiosity of th Chori burger cost me 90 pesos hehe. This is just a burger with fried egg inside, some veggies and 3 pieces of longanisa.

It was 7am when we arrived in Bonzai Resort Boracay.

We were told that Check in time is 1pm so we had to wait.

Guess the cup noodles we ate at 3am did not keep us from our hunger, so we just decided to look for a place to have our breakfast.

So..We had our breakfast in Paradiso Grill.

For only 80 pesos one can choose from any silog variants available.

I orderred Tapsilog and Yum yum orderred longsilog.

A glass of fruit shake cost 80 pesos. We orderred a watermelon shake. yummy!

Yummy breakfast. Total spending = 270 pesos plus the bottled water. Kinda expensive for our first day in Boracay but eventually we were able to budget our money.

Sorry, we forgot to take pictures in Paradiso Grill because we were so hungry at that time. Galit galit muna kami.

After breakfast we just took a stroll to station 1.

We saw some girls posing for a photoshoot. I may not be in the mood to take pictures at that time because the sun was scorching. I actually drag yum yum to go with me to station 1 because I haven't seen it yet.

I was actually planning to eat buffet with yum yum in Fridays Boracay but because it is located in station 1 which is too far from where we were staying the plan did not push through.

Like what they did here.

This is what they call "Willy's rock". Sadly, we did not have the time to go near it to take more pics.

Yum yum was facinated with the talents of the kids who made these sand art.

Yum yum always wanted to get Henna so I indulge her.

For only 100 pesos you can get henna tattoo in any part of your body. The bigger designs will cost you 150 to 200 pesos.

Cebu Pacific arrival in Caticlan

We arrived in the Caticlan airport at 6:30 am.

Thanks Cebu Pacific for the promo tickets! We booked 800 pesos tickets for two to Bora.

For your information, Caticlan airport is smaller than the Kalibo Airport. But is so much easy to get to Boracay island from Caticlan. I recommend that you book flights to Caticlan really.

To get to the Jetty Port, we just followed our fellow passengers. Thankfully we did not get lost. Although I wanted to take a long walk to the Jetty Port, we took a tryke ride for 50 pesos instead.

When you get to the Jetty Port prepare to pay:

Boat fee = 30 pesos
Environmental fee = 75 pesos
Terminal fee = 50 pesos

When you get to the other side of the island, you can take a tryke to your resort.

This is Cagban Port in the picture.

The tryke will cost 20 pesos per person. This is already cheap coz it is gonna be a long ride to the resort.

More tryke pics!

Look at the passengers at the back of the tryke. I think the tryke can accomodate around 4 to 5 passengers excluding the driver.

On our way to Boracay

Our Cebu pacific flight was rescheduled from 9am to 5am in the morning so we had no choice but to wake up at 2am to get ready and head to the airport.

Our breakfast!

Yum yum was soo cute when she tried to buy more time to get some sleep. hahaha. She goes.. " 10 minutes.. 10 minutes.." I was telling her to wake up already coz we don't want to be late.
I finally gave up, trying to wake her up so I just took pictures of myself with her in the background. See the butt over there covered with blanket? That was yum yum!

We took a cab to NAIA 3 and paid 150 pesos plus the tip.

When I thought we were getting lucky we got flagged down for carrying lotions, foot scrubs, batteries and toothpaste by the airport security. So we had to pay an additional 400 pesos to get our bags checked in.

Inside the airport, yum yum tried to connect to the wireless network.

Our zombie look!

Inside the plane

Our first time flying at 5am was great!

We enjoyed the sun rise view from the plane's window.

Backpackers' inn

I just wanna mention the inn where yum yum and I stayed the night before our flight to boracay.

This is probably the cheapest traveler's inn located in Manila.

I'm just happy to share our experiences.

Here is the link to their official website:

http://www.friendlysguesthouse.com/

If you are from the province and you need a place to spend the night, I recommend this place because it is very cheap and if you are a first time backpacker, you will definitely feel that you have become one when you check in.

Yum yum and I were actually the only local backpackers around. Well, this is because I did not really see pinoys in the places except for the manager, receptionist and the attendants.

By the way, you need to present a passport when you check in even if you are just a local traveler. This is part of their requirements. But you don't need to pay a down-payment to book a room.

Here is how you get to Friendly's Guesthouse.

From Lawton:

1. Take a bus or jeep and get off at Pedro Gill street or Padre Faura.
These are the streets that will lead to Robinsons Place Malate. Just head to the direction of the mall. You can go inside the mall and just ask for Adriatico wing.

2. When you get to Adriatico just walk straight until you reach corner Nakpil. You will see a white building.

Enter the white building and head to the old elevator. Hope this won't freak you out. It was actually cool to know that there are still old elevators like that around. This only say that the building is already old. Nevertheless, the place is still cool for backpacking experience.

Friendly's Guesthouse is at 4th floor. You will see the counter when the elevator opens.

The rooms are big enough for 2 people.

We booked the aircon room for 900 pesos.

We did not really expect first class hotel experience at Friendly's Guesthouse.
But because the manager and the staff were really "friendly",so no complaints were made.

Here are the pictures of the shared bathroom. There is a hot and cold shower available.
Tissue is present but you need to bring your own towels, soap and shampoo.

The bathroom is shared but it is very clean. I just wish they would replace the cover of the toilet. Well, the bowl is pristine clean right? No complaints.

Here is another option to get to Friendly's Guesthouse

From Roxas Blvd:

1. You can get off at Quirino Avenue and then just look for Mabini Street. There is a gas station in the left side of the steet from Quirino Avenue.

2. Look for jeepneys with Divisoria signboards. Ride a jeepney and just ask the driver to drop you off in Robinson's Place Malate which is in Pedro Gil.

3. When you get to Pedro Gil just walk to Adriatico street and you will find Friendly's Guesthouse corner Nakpil street. When you get passed "Ka Freddie" you will know that you are getting near.

Credit is due

I just wanna give credit to the author of the article that I read. So he is selling a book titled: How to make someone fall in love with you.

I can't believe it myself. When everything in this world seems to have a manual for reference. Why not on love right?

I say, when you fall in love, it is better to just fall freely. Just fall in love. You can't really teach the heart to follow anything I guess. I wish I get to experience falling in love again.

Oh well, chill with me by listening to this cover by John Mayer. Love it.

Lately, I've been feeling hurt because my relationship is not heading to the direction where I want it to go.

I'm now wondering if I'm still in a loving relationship.

I'm gonna share these signs that I found in the web which can be useful to everyone.

How to tell if someone likes or love you

1. The distance between us

When you like someone, the author mentioned that you tend to keep a closer distance with this person. It is like this person has reached your comfort zone. Close enough to stand near you.

2. The call

Do you know someone who calls you for no reason at all? "Wala lang" is the answer that you will get if you ask this person for the reason behind the call.
For me, this is sweet. awww

I just like getting trivial calls coz I know this is the start of a conversation we call "anything under the sun".

So I guess, when you like someone, you make the call.

3. When you smile

This is another sign that makes me go lalala...

You know when you see the smile of the person you like? You can actually tell if the person likes you from the smile.. a smile can just give you away.

The author said, smiles from someone who likes you last longer, meaning it doesn't fade quickly.

Even if he or she will try to hide it, the smile will always be there to make his or her day.

So watch out for that killer smile.

4. Naughty and Nice

The author said this is probably the ultimate sign to find out that the person likes you.

Especially when you throw yourself to the person you like; it becomes so obvious so later on you feel stupid?

The next day you try to be a snob to sort of create a balance in the atmosphere.

5. Wherever, Whenever, Whatever..

When someone likes you, he or she will bump into you whether you like it or not. This is funny but true! The author said the person who likes you will find a way to bump into you by changing his or her schedule to suit yours. Even going to the familiar places where you usually hang out.

Lastly, this person is always looking for you. Let's say he or she just wanted to always keep you at sight.

9intervals, the idea is derived from a cat having nine lives. I guess, I don't have to tell you how much I love cats! We've been through intervals in this lifetime. Guess, I'm lucky to be alive. I don't think I would be lucky the next time. But nevertheless, we have our intervals. A certain episode that we remember in the past that affects our future. Or maybe just something that we can learn from. A little something to look back to.
