Silhouettes and Sunset

What is interesting about sunset pictures are the effects it produces.

Most of the amazing sunset photographs effects out there are - Silhouettes

Silhouettes are pictures that conveys drama, sets the mood and tells a story.

These are pictures that focuses on the shapes and outlines of the object you are photographing.

Doesn't matter how ugly these objects look like in broad daylight. In Silhouettes we only care about the forms and patterns we can create.

How to create Silhouettes

1. The Silhouettes effect is produced when you position the camera “against the light”.

Simply place your subject in front of the light-source.
Technically, you “block the light-source” with the use of your subject.

Remember not to stare at the sun for long hours. Preferrably, use a a long lens around 200mm to 400mm supported by a tripod.

2. No Flash required.

You don't need a flash in taking Silhouettes
because the flash will ruin the effect. You only need to work with whatever natural light available.

3. Lighting.

Turn of the white balance feature in your digital camera.
By doing this, natural colors like blue, yellow and magenta will not be corrected automatically. Your photo will look more natural then.

You can also use a a very bright light at the background. Or you can select different background lighting colors like blue and red.

4. Frames

Just make your pictures distinct and free from clutter. Frame your pictures to eliminate unwanted objects.

5. Focus

When you are done framing your subject you proceed with right focus.
Focus by choosing between the background and the subject.
Focus on the background colors or you can focus on the subject in terms of shapes and sizes.
We recommend that you use the landscape feature in your digital camera to achieve sharp focus.

9intervals, the idea is derived from a cat having nine lives. I guess, I don't have to tell you how much I love cats! We've been through intervals in this lifetime. Guess, I'm lucky to be alive. I don't think I would be lucky the next time. But nevertheless, we have our intervals. A certain episode that we remember in the past that affects our future. Or maybe just something that we can learn from. A little something to look back to.
