I need to let u know that I was probably 10 to 15 minutes late when I came in to the movie house to watch "Eclipse". Now, I'm wondering what I could have missed to make me wanna see it again.
I decided to write a review of the movie in this blog because them who had seen it first were saying that the movie was great. But then again, they went ahead and saw the film without me anyway. I'm really hurt and bitter to be left behind. And this is the major reason why I'm blogging about it. Coz I finally realize how much fun it would be to have seen the movie with friends and family around. Well, this I say is true..sob. Watching the movie alone will entitle you to focus on the film. Yes, but I definitely missed out the fun of having to tease someone who likes Jacob so much haha.
So the film opened with Edward and Bella talking. I did not recall what they were talking about; I just remember the scene when Edward was bringing up the news to Charlie the father that Bella and him will be going to see the mother.
Then I don't remember what happened next. The pacing was really fast I guess.
I'm not gonna narrate the entire plot coz this will be pointless. I will just tell you about my favorite scenes and everything that I remember in the movie.
I remember seeing Victoria being chased by the Collins which made me say "Finally, they got rid of her for goodness sake"
I mean, they made the audience think that her character was some sinister when the actress who played her was not that good enough to be convincing. Well she is gone now so no threat for Bella anymore.
Talk about the female cast in this movie, I would say that I appreciate Rosalie? Is that her name? lol. I like the fact that she was finally introduced to the audience. I like her story. That part when she admitted that she envied Bella coz all the men were protecting her and stuff. The actress who played Rosalind was good. I like her.
Of course I like Alice. Her loveteam with Jasper was my favorite scene. They were so cute in the fight scene and sweet. I wanna tell my friends that this is the loveteam that made my day. It was just a very brief exposure for the two of them but they did it! They made me say "awww" sweeet..
Another character being introduced in the film was Jaspher. Boi,, who would have thought that behind that facade he would be some sort of a soldier. He looks like a school boy and his portrayal at Twilight 1 was really like that. Unable to control his desire for blood and with that hairstyle? I never really thought that he had gone through a lot in that vampire life of his.
Now, let us go to the main characters, if you like watching love triangles then you would enjoy this movie. Coz this is what it really is all about. This movie is about the love triangle that probably would end in Eclipse coz we all know that Bella is marrying Edward now.
Jacob did not change in this movie. He was the same old persistent boy who is in love with Bella. I love his persistence. He was good in showing his emotions as an actor. He is indeed a perfect fit for his character. Of course there were scenes without his shirt on but this actor is more than that. He got real acting skills. I say, Bella was the poor actress among the three coz you know she was just playing it all cool. Her character was easy to portray. Although this actress approach is also a perfect fit for the role, I like the fact that she wont let Jacob go not because she was really in love with him, but because she doesnt want to lose him. awwww. You better watch the tent scene because this I think is the best scene for the three of them.
The plan to kill the enemies was perfect. But I wish there was more in the fight scenes. I wish there were more new born vampires to kill. I wish these newborn vampires did more damage to the town. I wish we have felt their thirst for blood and war.
So, I was not that satisfied to find out that the Collins had defeated the supposed to be "army " of newborn vampires.
And here comes my review of Edward my love. yihee! I love him and he had proven that he is a good actor to me because of his movie "Remember Me". This guy, does not even look like he was trying to act. He just did it so well that even without dialogues he can prove that he is a good actor. I love him but I have to say that this movie was not that much about his character. This movie was more about Bella's feelings and choices and also about the situation that three of them were in.
Now for my review of Bella. See, I dont even know the name of the actress, but I have to give it to her. She always managed to control the two boys when things start heating up. And that self sacrifice mood was great to help Edward defeat Victoria. But then again Bella was better in New Moon. While Edward was great in Twilight. And Jacob like what I've said did not overact or have any overexposure in the 3 movies so far.
This movie is a cool movie if you are a Twilight fan. Who wouldnt want to follow the love story right? But if you are a vampire movie fan, you would probably be a bit disappointed for the lack of killing and blood. The special effects was great but not that great compared to Twilight. The locations did not change that much so I have to say I like New Moon better if you ask me about the scenes per se.
Overall the movie is good enough for the fans who are following the story of the movie. But if you look at the effects, they do have something lacking. If you like vampire stories, I recommend " Interview with a vampire" instead.
